Fellows in Training

Fellows in Training (FIT) and Early Career Council

The Illinois ACC FIT and Early Career Council serves as a forum for trainees from diverse cardiology programs across the state to collaborate on career development and professional growth. The council’s target audience includes General Cardiology and Advanced Subspecialty fellows, as well as internal medicine residents interested in pursuing a career in cardiology. Comprising representatives from training programs across Illinois, the council organizes key initiatives such as the annual statewide poster competition and the Fall career development event. In addition, FITs and residents play an active role in the Illinois ACC scientific meetings—gaining experience not only by attending but also by assisting with planning and contributing as speakers. The council’s mission is to connect trainees across the region, foster networking opportunities, and provide resources that support career advancement and leadership development in cardiology.

FITs in the US and Canada will receive a complimentary ACC membership through your training director, who will submit your information to us. Your complimentary membership in the College will last the duration of your training.
